Mazmur 51:19

51:19 Then you will accept ¹  the proper sacrifices, burnt sacrifices and whole offerings;

then bulls will be sacrificed ²  on your altar. ³

68:11 The Lord speaks; ⁴ 

many, many women spread the good news. ⁵ 

[51:19]  ¹ tn Or “desire, take delight in.”

[51:19]  ² tn Heb “then they will offer up bulls.” The third plural subject is indefinite.

[51:19]  ³ sn Verses 18-19 appear to reflect the exilic period, when the city’s walls lay in ruins and the sacrificial system had been disrupted.

[68:11]  ⁴ tn Heb “gives a word.” Perhaps this refers to a divine royal decree or battle cry.

[68:11]  ⁵ tn Heb “the ones spreading the good news [are] a large army.” The participle translated “the ones spreading the good news” is a feminine plural form. Apparently the good news here is the announcement that enemy kings have been defeated (see v. 12).
